Since it was founded in 1981, Micro-Analysis Consultants Ltd (MAC) have produced standards for electron microscopy users worldwide, manufacturing standards for the following microanalysis systems:

MAC are able to produce blocks for all Microanalysis Instrumentation or customised mounts. Block material can be as specific as the standards which are mounted, and MAC are able to offer blocks in:



The standards supplied are suitable for electron-beam Energy Dispersive (EDX) or Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray (WDX) microanalysis systems.

MAC only purchases reference samples from leading suppliers, with a large number of these materials traceable to a national institution, as a standard reference material (SRM), to ensure consistently high quality. With samples mounted into brass blanks in our own modern factory; diamond polished to a ¼ micron finish and coated with carbon by our experienced team. Each block of standards has its own unique number allocated to it, and comes with a booklet containing a map for standard identification and certificates of analysis; each standard is tested with our own Analysis/SEM Equipment prior to shipping.

In April to September 1997 MAC proudly attained ISO 9001 accreditation.

MAC has access to over 500 different standards material which include Rare Earth's, Synthetic Compounds, Pure Materials, Natural Minerals, Steels and Alloys. In instances where a required material is not listed, every endeavour will be made to try and source it.
